CRI adopts Caseware cloud audit suite in US rollout

Wed, 22nd Apr 2026

Carr, Riggs & Ingram will adopt Caseware's Dynamic Audit Solution suite in a full rollout across the US audit firm.

CRI, a top-25 US accounting firm, will deploy DAS, DAS PCR, and DAS EBP alongside Caseware's Taxflow and Sherlock products. The package is intended to support changes to the firm's assurance and advisory operations as it shifts to a cloud-first model.

The agreement gives Caseware a notable customer among larger US accounting firms, as software suppliers compete to win firms looking to standardise audit workflows and manage growth through acquisitions. For CRI, the move is aimed at easing operational strain linked to file management, testing, risk assessment and the challenge of serving a larger client base on fragmented systems.

Rollout plans

Implementation is due to begin with a US-wide rollout in summer 2026. CRI chose an integrated cloud environment as part of a broader effort to centralise operations and strengthen security as the firm continues to expand.

That expansion has been driven in part by acquisitions, which can leave firms with a patchwork of tools and processes. Bringing audit, tax, and related workflows onto a single platform is intended to reduce duplication and create a more consistent approach across offices and teams.

CRI's decision was influenced by Caseware's product direction, AI roadmap, the audit methodology behind DAS and the involvement of CPA.com. An affiliate of the American Institute of CPAs, CPA.com worked with the firm on migration planning, implementation and training.

Audit process

Built on the Caseware platform, DAS is an end-to-end cloud audit workflow that covers stages from client acceptance through reporting and lockdown. The methodology behind the suite was developed by the AICPA, with input from audit professionals at large firms, using a data- and risk-driven approach.

The software is intended to streamline engagement flow, support risk assessment and reduce redundant work. It also supports integrations, a key issue for firms trying to modernise older processes without disrupting client service.

"At CRI, we're building a firm that's ready for what's next, and that means investing in technology that doesn't just keep pace but leads the way. This collaboration will give us the efficiency and insight we need to deliver higher quality audits at scale, with Caseware's AI platform providing the foundation that supports our ambitious growth plans," said Bill Carr, Chairman, Carr, Riggs & Ingram.

For Caseware, the CRI contract adds to the momentum the company says it is seeing among the top 100 accounting firms. The audit software market has become more competitive as firms seek tools that can manage larger volumes of data, document decisions more consistently and support oversight requirements.

David Marquis, Chief Executive Officer, Caseware, said, "CRI chose Caseware because of our shared belief that AI-powered audit must be built on a foundation of trust, governance and professional integrity - not just capability. That conviction is at the heart of everything we build, and we are proving that transformation at scale is not only possible but repeatable. Through our partnership with CPA.com, we're able to deliver the implementation rigour, change management and platform depth that firms like CRI need to move with confidence. We are excited to be part of CRI's journey and look forward to supporting them every step of the way."

Training support

CPA.com had a direct role in preparing the move, according to the companies. Its work included a data migration plan, an implementation programme and a training curriculum for CRI staff.

It will also support change management, helping CRI leadership communicate the transition across the firm and prepare users for the new systems. Such support is often central to large software changes in professional services firms, where adoption can depend as much on process redesign and staff training as on the technology itself.

"CRI's adoption of the DAS suite reflects the accelerating momentum behind modernising the audit. CPA.com is committed to supporting CRI through every stage of their transformation; from planning and implementation consulting to data migration evaluation, change management and end-user training - ensuring their team is equipped to succeed in a modern audit environment," Kalil Merhib, Executive Vice President, Growth & Professional Services, CPA.com, said.

CRI also plans to broaden its use of the platform with additional AI tools, including Extractly and Validate, as it extends the system across its engagement workflow.
