Directed Technologies expands leadership for global growth

Yesterday

Directed Technologies has announced the appointment of four new senior leaders to expand its operations in key emerging markets, further advancing its partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) globally.

The leading connected technology provider has appointed Adrian Tamaki as Sales Director for the Latin American (LATAM) region, Cleyo Cha as Country Manager for South Korea, Sam (Takashi) Suda as Chief Representative in Japan, and Vishnu Verma as Country Manager in India. These appointments aim to bolster Directed Technologies' presence and capabilities in these strategic areas.

Adrian Tamaki will be responsible for establishing Directed Technologies' operations within key LATAM markets. The company already collaborates with a major OEM in Mexico to deliver connected vehicle solutions and plans to use this foothold to expand further into LATAM countries including Brazil and Colombia, which have become crucial for advancements in logistics and vehicle management.

Cleyo Cha joins Directed Technologies with significant experience in connected and telematics services, previously holding roles at Trimble Inc. and Dell. His appointment follows the acquisition of a manufacturing facility in Incheon, which enhances the company's manufacturing capabilities and regional presence. According to the company, "The facility adds strategic manufacturing capabilities and greater capacity, helping position Directed Technologies as one of the only full-stack automotive technology companies that wholly in-house design, manufacture, and manage telematics and IoT fleet solutions globally."

In Japan, industry veteran Sam Suda, with 36 years of experience including senior roles at Hino and Toyota, will leverage his extensive connections and insights into OEM partnerships to shape Directed Technologies' strategies in the region.

Vishnu Verma will lead the company's venture into the Indian market, bringing experience from his time at HERE Technologies and Map My India. The Indian market, known for its significant vehicle manufacturing sector, represents a key opportunity for Directed Technologies.

Directed Technologies has been a partner of choice for OEMs in regions including Australia, Mexico, and South Africa, working with automotive giants such as Daimler Group, Volvo Group, Toyota Group, Isuzu UD, Nissan, and Ford, as well as fleet operators like FedEx and Australia Post.

Brent Stafford, Executive Director of Directed Technologies, commented on the appointments, stating, "Our global growth strategy is built on innovation, customer-centric solutions, long-term partnerships and importantly team culture and talent. The appointment of these senior country leads strengthens our ability to deliver more high-value factory-fit solutions that help OEMs and fleet operators improve safety, efficiency, and connectivity."

Mark Whitmore, Global Sales Director, added, "It's certainly an exciting time to be at Directed, with the global growth we are experiencing validating our product capabilities and customer-focused sales approach. To be able to bring together such a great team of leaders further strengthens our in-market ability to deliver local solutions that best serve the needs of our customers."
