NuSummit, Simbian launch AI-driven CognixMDR security SOC
Simbian and NuSummit Cybersecurity have formed a strategic partnership centred on NuSummit's new managed detection and response service, CognixMDR, which uses Simbian's AI SOC product.
NuSummit Cybersecurity, which sits within NuSummit, has purchased Simbian's AI SOC technology for the service. The companies said the combined offering targets security operations teams that face high alert volumes, staffing shortages, and attacks that use artificial intelligence.
Service launch
NuSummit described CognixMDR as a managed detection and response service for enterprise customers. The companies said the service provides around-the-clock monitoring. NuSummit also said its security staff will provide oversight and manage customer communications.
The companies positioned the partnership around changes in security operations. They said in-house security operations teams often struggle to manage large numbers of alerts. They also pointed to a shortage of skilled personnel. They highlighted attacks that use AI tools.
NuSummit said CognixMDR aims to cover all alerts. It also said the service targets faster response times. The company referred to Mean Time to Respond as one of the metrics affected by the approach.
"At NuSummit, we are committed to helping our clients navigate the most intricate cybersecurity challenges," said Sameer Shelke, President, NuSummit, and CEO, NuSummit Cybersecurity. "By choosing Simbian's AI SOC to power CognixMDR, we are setting a new benchmark for managed detection and response services. This partnership enables us to offer our customers a truly future‐ready SOC, combining deep human expertise with the unmatched speed, scalability, and precision of agentic AI."
AI SOC role
Simbian's AI SOC product acts as an automation layer inside a security operations centre, according to the companies. They described it as working like a virtual security analyst. It investigates and triages alerts. It also responds to alerts under defined conditions.
The companies said the AI SOC integrates with existing security tools that generate alerts. They referenced SIEM, XDR, and EDR tools as sources of telemetry and alerts that feed into investigations. They also said the system correlates signals across those sources.
NuSummit said CognixMDR moves beyond manual triage workflows. The company said it uses autonomous agents to connect "disparate security signals". It also said the service looks for "hidden threat patterns". It said the service can execute remediation in real time.
The companies described the underlying technology in terms of Simbian's "TrustedLLM" architecture and its "Context Lake". They said the AI SOC agent uses customer-specific information. They said it accounts for standard operating procedures and the customer's business environment.
They said the AI SOC agent can resolve up to 90% of alerts without human intervention. They said NuSummit's analysts continue to provide oversight. They also said NuSummit's staff remain responsible for customer communications.
Market focus
NuSummit operates in digital and cybersecurity services and said it focuses on capital markets and financial services segments. It cited customers that include financial institutions, government agencies, and large enterprises. The company said it has a footprint across India, the Middle East, and the US. It also said it works with more than 300 businesses globally.
NuSummit said it has delivered managed detection and response services for several years, with emphasis on regulated organisations. It positioned CognixMDR as a new offering that sits on top of that existing work.
Simbian said it builds AI agents aimed at automating security tasks. The company is headquartered in Mountain View, California, and said it is venture backed.
"Security is a domain of ever-increasing complexity where every incident brings new variables," said Ambuj Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of Simbian. "Our partnership with NuSummit is a significant step toward our mission of making autonomous security accessible to everyone. By integrating our AI SOC into CognixMDR, we are enabling NuSummit to deliver customers a faster, more scalable path to strategic defense."
NuSummit said CognixMDR is generally available globally.
