ADT has expanded its use of Oracle AI Database@Google Cloud and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to support business-critical systems and HR operations.

The company has migrated its billing, tax and order management applications to Oracle AI Database@Google Cloud. It estimates the move will save more than USD $3 million over four years and improve application performance by 25%.

David Scott, Executive Vice President and Chief People and Administration Officer at ADT, said the company has run Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM since around 2022, and that Oracle's release extends its AI use there to areas including HR support and new-hire onboarding. He said ADT's finance, supply chain, and procurement teams are now moving from on-premises systems to Oracle's cloud, a project he expects to close in 2028.

"In the 2022 time period, we went off of the on-prem solution into the [Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM], and then we're now in the process of implementing our accounting and supply chain, and to the rest of the cloud suite off the on-prem suite. So we led the charge, and then the rest of the organisation is pulling in behind us. ADT is a proper-sized company ... We hire about 5000 people a year, so a big part of my implementation over the last three years and our increased capabilities have definitely been on the recruiting side."

Today's expansion extends ADT's cloud strategy with Oracle Fusion Agentic Applications for HR by bringing employee self-service, recruiting, workforce data, and AI agents into a single ecosystem.

In an Oracle release, ADT said it wanted to give employees a more consistent experience, reduce integration work and free managers to spend more time with their teams.

According to Oracle, its Cloud HCM now automates responses to 90% of basic HR enquiries. In addition, HR support tickets have dropped by 26%, leaving HR staff more time for workforce planning and more complex employee issues.

"I've really focused on reshaping my HR team so that they're able to run more of a centralised help desk ... We've now actually removed our phone lines. We're doing everything over chat with them," said Scott.

ADT is also using Oracle Database Zero Data Loss Autonomous Recovery Service to protect critical data. It has adopted Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture to support database availability and disaster recovery across three Google Cloud regions.

Managers are also using AI-assisted tools during performance review cycles, according to the announcement. Oracle said the tools save ADT two to three hours per direct report.

Scott said fluidity between systems at the HR level is key. He cited the newly announced Fusion Companion as helping applications both trigger work and pull in data, especially in the recruitment process.

"Talent acquisition is one of the places where I have a couple of vendors that are outside of the Oracle environment, and it's complex to be able to connect what's going on and pipelining talent acquisition to ultimately hire and then have retention," said Scott. "I will say that the more the fewer APIs, the fewer interactions, the less place I have to stitch together data the better - and a better experience if I'm talking applicant experience or employee experience."
