AlphaTheta unveils DJM-V5 mixer with wireless monitoring

Fri, 23rd Jan 2026

AlphaTheta has introduced the DJM-V5, a compact three-channel DJ mixer inspired by its larger DJM-V10 model, widely used in clubs and festivals. Positioned mid-range in the company's mixer line-up, the DJM-V5 has a suggested retail price of €1,999 including VAT, GBP £1,739 including VAT, and USD $1,999–2,199 in the US. The mixer's footprint is roughly 30% smaller than the DJM-V10, while retaining key elements of its layout and feel.

Layout and Controls

Each channel of the DJM-V5 features a four-band EQ, compressor, filter, and Send FX. AlphaTheta incorporated 60mm channel faders based on the DJM-V10-LF and introduced a new Soft Mix Curve fader mode that applies subtle high-frequency attenuation for smoother track blends.

Sound and Effects

The mixer delivers 96 kHz / 64-bit DSP processing and uses 32-bit A/D and D/A converters from ESS Technology. Six Send FX options are available - Short Delay, Reverb, Shimmer, Tape Echo, PingPong, and Echo-Verb, each with dedicated send knobs. Time controls for effects such as Tape Echo, PingPong, and Echo-Verb include tactile BPM-synced clicks, while Short Delay, Reverb, and Shimmer remain smooth and continuous.

Filter Modes

Each channel has a filter knob with low-pass, high-pass, and cross-pass modes, the latter appearing for the first time on an AlphaTheta mixer, allowing low frequencies to be maintained while filtering mids and highs.

Wireless Monitoring

The DJM-V5 introduces built-in SonicLink wireless monitoring. DJs can pair the mixer with HDJ-F10 headphones via a single button press, or connect future-compatible models by touching a designated area on the front panel.

Connectivity and Integration

The mixer supports PRO DJ LINK via LAN, enabling connection to CDJ-3000X or CDJ-3000 players and synchronised effects in rekordbox. The DJM-V5 also offers Link Cue for previewing tracks while browsing, a rear USB Type-C port for PC or Mac (supporting rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro with a separate licence), a top USB Type-C for iPhone or iPad, three line and phono RCA inputs, microphone input via XLR/1/4-inch TRS, and master/booth/record headphone outputs.

Brand Mission

AlphaTheta, operating in the DJ sector since the 1990s under brands including AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ, described its corporate mission: "AlphaTheta's mission is 'One Through Music.' It's our aim to make meaningful contributions to the world through innovative technology and high-quality audio equipment, software, and services, and by fostering connections with the music community," said AlphaTheta Corporation.

The company advises customers to update the DJM-V5 to the latest firmware before use.
