Citrin Cooperman has adopted Caseware's AI-enabled Dynamic Assurance Solution Suite across its audit practice.

The accounting and advisory firm has implemented the full DAS Suite, including DAS Audit, DAS PCR and DAS EBP, on a single platform intended to bring greater consistency across engagements and teams.

The move marks a further step in Citrin Cooperman's use of AI-led tools across the business, which it links to audit quality, staff development and growth. The suite is built around Caseware's Verity platform, which integrates methodology, guidance, and data-driven insights into the audit workflow.

Citrin Cooperman works with private middle-market businesses and high-net-worth individuals and employs more than 3,600 professionals. The firm is part of the Moore North America association, a regional member of the Moore Global network.

The unified platform is designed to improve collaboration within the assurance practice and give staff access to information and insights within the engagement itself. Citrin Cooperman also expects the system to support more standardised execution across different audit areas.

Jessie Kanter, Assurance Innovation Leader at Citrin Cooperman, described the decision as part of a broader technology push across the firm.

"Our investment in DAS is part of a broader commitment to innovation across the firm," said Kanter. "As AI and emerging technologies continue to reshape the profession, we're focused on empowering our professionals with intelligent tools that enhance audit quality, accelerate learning, and enable us to scale effectively while preserving the critical thinking and professional judgment that our clients value."

Kanter said the system's value for staff lies in embedding information more directly into daily work.

"What resonated with our teams was the ability to access information and insights within the engagement itself," Kanter said. "When professionals can better understand the reasoning behind audit procedures and conclusions, they build stronger technical knowledge and professional judgment. That's an important investment in both quality and the future of our profession."

Implementation support

CPA.com served as the implementation partner during the transition, handling planning, data migration, training, and change management as Citrin Cooperman moved its assurance practice to the new system.

The transition highlights the operational challenge many accounting firms face when replacing legacy audit processes with newer software, particularly when training and common working methods must be aligned across large teams.

"Successful transformation requires more than implementing new technology," said Kalil Merhib, Executive Vice President, Growth & Professional Services at CPA.com. "It requires aligning people, processes, and data across the organization. We worked closely with Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP to support a thoughtful transition that reinforces consistency across teams while positioning the firm for continued growth."

Caseware, which serves more than 23,000 firms in over 130 countries, has been expanding its focus on AI in audit and financial reporting software. It positions Verity as a way to embed guidance and workflow controls more directly into engagements rather than requiring professionals to move between separate systems and reference materials.

David Marquis, Chief Executive Officer at Caseware, said accounting firms were looking to combine audit knowledge with governed workflows.

"Firms like Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP recognize that the greatest value comes from combining deep audit expertise with intelligent, governed workflows that help professionals become more efficient and accelerate time to value for clients," said Marquis. "That's exactly the vision behind Caseware Verity, and we're proud to build the agentic platform that enables the firms that are building the next generation of assurance."

The adoption underscores how mid-market accounting firms are investing in software designed to standardise audit work, support training, and make it easier to scale teams without relying on disconnected processes. For suppliers, it also shows how AI is being marketed less as a standalone feature and more as part of the underlying workflow assurance staff use every day.

Citrin Cooperman said the implementation reflects a long-term commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and investment in technologies that shape the professional experience across the firm.
