Evergreen acquires Sterling, appoints Solei Dyment as new CEO

Evergreen has acquired Sterling Technology Solutions and has appointed Solei Dyment as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Evergreen, a group of managed IT services and software businesses, has completed the acquisition of Sterling Technology Solutions, which is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and serves small and medium-sized businesses with managed IT services.

Sterling Technology Solutions was founded by Tom Blanchard in 2003, who drew inspiration from his family's tradition of exceptional service delivered from a small community hardware store. Blanchard's approach was to fuse traditional customer service values with contemporary IT expertise over the course of more than two decades building the organisation.

After 22 years with the company, Blanchard has chosen to step away from the managed services provider sector and pursue a new direction. As part of the transition, Blanchard sought a buyer that would respect the legacy of Sterling Technology Solutions while supporting growth, with the goal of expanding the company's annual recurring revenue and its presence along the East Coast of the United States.

Blanchard became aware of Evergreen through Keith Barthold, who previously sold his business, DKBInnovative, to Evergreen in the past year. Blanchard noted his emphasis on finding a steward that would respect Sterling's established culture and operational identity.

Following the acquisition, Sterling Technology Solutions will operate as part of Evergreen's Lyra Technology Group. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed by the companies.

Evergreen Vice President Sydney Hockett commented on the decision to acquire Sterling, highlighting the company's approach to employee and client care, and the opportunity to demonstrate Evergreen's executive placement programme as part of the deal.

Dyment assumes the Chief Executive Officer post after participating in Evergreen's Executive Placement programme. She previously held the position of Director of Business Development at MSPCFO and was involved with Evolve, where she led peer groups focused on supporting managed services providers with growth strategies.
