FloWater CEO spotlights clean water issues at NYC Climate Week

Fri, 19th Sep 2025

Rich "Raz" Razgaitis, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of FloWater, will participate in a series of public events in New York City during Climate Week 2025 to address the urgency of clean, sustainable water solutions.

Times Square event

One of the headline events is scheduled to take place in Times Square, where Razgaitis will join forces with the well-known Naked Cowboy in support of the "Drink Water Naked" campaign. The campaign promotes the consumption of water that is contaminant-free, free from plastic packaging, and without artificial flavouring.

The event is set to offer a highly visible platform to underscore the campaign's core message: "the best way to drink water is contaminant-free, plastic packaging-free, and free from artificial flavoring". The Naked Cowboy's participation situates the campaign's aim of transparency and purity, with organisers noting that "just like the Naked Cowboy, FloWater has nothing to hide."

Organisers expect street-level crowd engagement in Times Square, highlighting bold climate messaging in the heart of New York City as part of broader awareness efforts during Climate Week.

Keynote address: water security and solutions

The second major event features Razgaitis delivering a keynote address at Hudson Yards for the ReAssembly Climate Week session entitled "Global Challenges: The Truth About Clean Water - And How We Can Fix It." He is expected to outline systemic risks affecting safe drinking water including outdated infrastructure and insufficiently regulated contaminants. The session will provide actionable solutions aimed at building a more resilient and equitable future around water access.

The session will also examine how recent developments in water policy and infrastructure are impacting communities across the United States. Press seating and interview opportunities will be available at this event.

Media opportunities and commentary

Throughout Climate Week, Razgaitis will be available for interviews, photographs, and commentary on subjects encompassing clean water equity, sustainable consumer habits, and threats to domestic water quality. The event series is positioned as a way to spotlight pressing water security issues affecting both New York City and other communities nationwide.

Story priorities: national context

The upcoming public appearances highlight several pressing concerns for national and city-level water safety. Among them are weakened federal drinking water protections, including regulations around PFAS or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, which have left "millions at risk." Organisers cite new research indicating that bottled water may contain "tens of thousands of micro- and nanoplastic particles per litre, potentially linked to endocrine disruption and long-term health concerns."

There is also growing concern about elevated lead levels in school drinking water - sparking efforts to replace lead service lines and reduce children's exposure. Meanwhile, the increasing frequency of extreme weather, persistent droughts, and ageing water infrastructure pose further challenges to water security in the United States. Legal action over PFAS contamination continues, with lawsuits targeting polluters and regulatory agencies amid calls for stricter oversight.

The series of events in New York City is organised to increase public visibility for water safety and sustainability issues and to foster practical discussion about policy reforms and collective actions that can benefit public health and the environment.
