Q4 has won the Best Use of AI in Finance category in the inaugural Champions in AI Awards, recognising its investor relations software platform.

Judges cited the Toronto-based group's use of artificial intelligence across investor relations tasks, including earnings call Q&A preparation, competitor analysis and investor targeting. The awards programme is run by Best in Biz Awards and judged by media professionals.

Q4 sells software used by investor relations teams at more than 2,600 public companies worldwide. Its customers include large listed businesses such as McDonald's, Netflix and Visa.

Judges also pointed to customer results, including a reported 212% return on investment over three years. They highlighted that figure alongside the breadth of tasks the platform is designed to handle within one system.

Award focus

According to the awards programme, "Traditionally, investor relations has relied on fragmented tools and highly manual workflows, despite being one of the most high-stakes functions in modern finance. Q4 aims to be at the forefront of AI innovation in IR through its unified IR operations platform - bringing together IR website management, earnings preparation and execution, investor intelligence, CRM, analyst consensus management, and secure AI in a single ecosystem."

The judges also praised "the wide range of functions that Q4 simplifies - from earnings call Q&A preparation and competitor analysis to investor targeting". They added that the company showed "Q4's ability to bring secure, contextual AI into one of finance's most demanding functions."

Investor relations has become a growing area of interest for software providers as public companies face pressure to communicate clearly with shareholders and analysts while handling larger volumes of market data. Teams often rely on a mix of website tools, customer relationship management software, shareholder analysis and earnings support systems.

Q4 has been pushing to consolidate those tasks within a single platform. Recent product updates combine contextual AI, investor intelligence, a native CRM product and answer engine optimisation tools for investor relations websites.

At the centre of that strategy is Q, which Q4 describes as an AI-powered agent for investor relations officers. The tool uses proprietary investor data and market activity insights to support workflow decisions.

Executive response

Lewis Black, Chief Executive Officer at Q4, commented on the recognition.

"Investor relations teams are under constant pressure to move faster, communicate with precision, and navigate increasingly complex market dynamics. AI should help reduce complexity - not add to it. We're honored to be recognized by Champions in AI, and this award underscores Q4's commitment to providing a secure, unified platform that turns AI into an operational and strategic advantage," Black said.

Q4 positions its software around the day-to-day work of investor relations departments, including earnings delivery, analyst and guidance management, investor outreach, stock surveillance and consensus management. It says more than half of the S&P 500 use its services.

Operations are headquartered in Toronto, with offices in New York, San Francisco, Boston, London, India and Mexico. The group has built its business around listed companies seeking a more integrated approach to shareholder communications and market intelligence.

The award places Q4 among a growing number of finance software companies using AI as a central part of their product strategy, particularly in areas where manual research and communication have traditionally dominated workflows.
