TA Associates invests in Aeris to boost AI-driven IoT security
Aeris has secured a strategic investment from private equity firm TA Associates. The agreement will see TA Associates take a minority stake in the provider of SaaS-based IoT connectivity and cybersecurity solutions. Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.
Industry focus
Aeris enables IoT deployments for clients across automotive, utilities, energy, fleet management, medical devices, and manufacturing. The company supports nearly 100 million connected devices globally, including over 41 million connected vehicles. Customers are served either directly or through partners such as IoT service providers, mobile network operators, communications service providers, and device manufacturers.
Technology platforms
Aeris' trio of flagship products comprise the IoT Accelerator Platform, the recently launched IoT Watchtower, and the Mobility Suite. These platforms offer enterprises and operator partners tools to manage, secure, and optimise connected devices. The IoT Watchtower platform, introduced earlier this year, is a fully integrated cellular IoT security solution designed to enhance enterprise visibility and prevent security breaches.
Strategic partnership
The investment from TA Associates is expected to accelerate Aeris's development and adoption of AI-driven IoT security products. TA will also join the Aeris Board of Directors and work with the company's leadership on strategy and product innovation. The focus includes moving forward with Aeris's Agentic AI capabilities for improved security and data insights in enterprise IoT environments.
Growth objectives
"Aeris has deep roots and proven expertise in powering some of the world's largest and most complex global IoT programs, delivering AI-powered security and deep data-driven insights through our reliable connectivity management platform. This investment from TA marks a significant milestone in our journey," said Marc Jones, Board Chair, Aeris.
Aziz Benmalek, Chief Executive and Board Director at Aeris, said that TA's involvement would further company growth by helping to expand AI and security offerings across different industries.
Investor perspective
Nick Leppla, Director at TA, and Jason Werlin, Managing Director at TA, highlighted their longstanding interest in Aeris.
"We have followed Aeris closely for over a decade and believe the Company's proven track record of innovation, trusted customer relationships and global scale have created a strong foundation for continued growth. We look forward to partnering with Marc, Aziz and the entire Aeris team as they further expand their leadership and impact across the IoT ecosystem," said Leppla and Werlin.
