Vinmar automates USD $3 billion unit with Celonis platform

Wed, 5th Nov 2025

Vinmar International has implemented the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform to enhance efficiency and automation in its global order-to-cash operations.

The shift involved transforming processes within Vinmar's USD $3 billion business unit, moving away from a heavily manual system that previously required coordination across multiple teams and platforms. This manual approach often led to complicated logistics and unnecessary costs, with more than 20% of orders expedited by default.

By integrating the Celonis platform, Vinmar now captures real-time process data from its core enterprise resource planning, logistics, and banking systems.

The creation of a digital twin of its supply chain operations allows Vinmar to coordinate its internal resources more effectively, orchestrating people, systems, and artificial intelligence across the entire workflow.

This centrally managed system supports a range of automation initiatives. It automates order-to-cash workflows, flags at-risk orders proactively, and reduces the volume of emails and handoffs necessary for routine tasks.

For instance, when an order appears to be at risk, the platform can route it to the appropriate approver, generate a simple approval form, and coordinate activities such as expediting shipment, postponing delivery, or updating order status. This has resulted in an operation that runs with improved end-to-end efficiency and reduced manual intervention.

Describing the foundation of this transformation, Vishal Goradia, Chief Executive Officer of Vinmar International, said:

Celonis' platform is the foundation of our autonomous operations. It's the intelligence layer, embedding AI directly into our workflow to automatically handle critical, real-time decisions and actions. This strategic shift is enabling us to deliver customer value, significantly reduce operational cost, and scale with unprecedented agility.

Celonis worked collaboratively with Vinmar to provide the required real-time context to the artificial intelligence driving these processes. Alex Rinke, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Celonis, stated:

Vinmar's success is a perfect blueprint for business transformation using AI powered by PI. We worked hand-in-hand with them to give their AI the context it needs, to ensure it was deployed in the right places, and to make it work with everything else they're doing.

The combination of real-time data and process mining enables Vinmar to reduce the risk of errors associated with manual processing and streamline supply chain operations. Automating distressed order flagging and resolution has helped Vinmar to decrease avoidable costs while improving customer responsiveness.

The digital twin created by Celonis reflects the current state of Vinmar's global supply chain, integrating data from disparate systems to present a unified picture of operational performance. This allows management to identify and act upon bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks instantaneously, and enables more timely decision-making supported by accurate data.

The automation of the order-to-cash process has also significantly reduced the volume of manual email communication previously required, minimising handoffs and supporting Vinmar's objective of operational scalability without a corresponding increase in administrative workload.

Since its inception in 1978, Vinmar has grown to employ over 1,500 people across 58 offices, establishing its presence in more than 110 countries. The company distributes plastics and chemicals to customers around the globe and continues to adapt its operations in response to evolving market and technology conditions.

Celonis, based in Munich and New York City, provides process intelligence and mining tools to companies seeking to create digital twins of their business operations. The technology integrates process data and business context to equip organisations with actionable insights into how their operations function, supporting continuous improvement and cost management efforts.
