Aligned & Lambda join forces on AI-ready data centre in Texas
Aligned will partner with Lambda to provide data centre infrastructure and an AI cloud platform at the new DFW-04 facility in Plano, Texas.
Lambda will occupy Aligned's new Dallas-Fort Worth area facility, DFW-04, which is currently under construction. The data centre is designed to support high-density graphics processing units (GPUs) with liquid-cooling technology to accommodate advanced artificial intelligence workloads.
Aligned will integrate Lambda's AI Cloud platform into the DFW-04 site. The facility is being constructed to support infrastructure accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell and NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra, with aims to facilitate future generations of AI platforms.
Andrew Schaap, Chief Executive Officer of Aligned, commented on the partnership, stating: "We're proud to partner with Lambda to support the buildout of its GPU cloud infrastructure, accelerated by NVIDIA, for AI deployments, which is transforming how AI developers innovate and businesses utilizing AI models operate. Particularly in Dallas, where demand for AI computation space has spiked interest in a growing market, combining a GPU cloud built specifically for AI workloads with an AI-ready data center designed with liquid cooling technologies capable of supporting the highest-density environments will be a game changer."
The DFW-04 facility will employ Aligned's Adaptive Modular Infrastructure (AMI), which allows for scaling and transition between different types of deployments, spanning enterprise applications, cloud services, and high-density AI implementations. The company's cooling solutions include patented air, liquid, and hybrid systems designed to address the evolving requirements of modern IT infrastructure.
Aligned cites sustainability as a key aspect of its operations, implementing strategies to advance energy efficiency and cooling technology over the last decade. The company's Delta3 air-cooled system and its DeltaFlow liquid cooling system, currently patent-pending, have been highlighted as solutions to support a range of GPU cloud requirements across various densities.
Lambda is known for its AI Developer Cloud, which is utilised by technology firms, large enterprises, universities, research institutions, and AI-focused start-ups. The partnership with Aligned is expected to meet Lambda's requirements for scalability as it expands capacity for public and private AI deployments.
Discussing the partnership, Ken Patchett, Vice President of Data Centre Infrastructure at Lambda, said: "With its unrelenting focus on driving disruptive innovation in data center design, energy efficiency and cooling, Aligned is the ideal partner to help Lambda build large, flexible space that meets the AI demands of today and tomorrow. Deploying AI at scale is no easy feat, and Aligned's ability to rapidly deliver AI-ready infrastructure, along with its passion for supporting customers with a consistently high-touch, world-class experience, is instrumental to meet the aggressive scale, quality and speed standards Lambda sets for its public and private deployments."
The DFW-04 data centre is being constructed in Plano, Texas, and its infrastructure aims to support a broad spectrum of AI workloads. According to Aligned, this partnership with Lambda illustrates their ongoing commitment to working with AI service providers and supporting next-generation applications in artificial intelligence.
