CData Software earns second spot on 2025 Inc. 5000 list
CData Software has been included for a second consecutive year on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies, ranking at number 2,373 for 2025.
The Inc. 5000 list provides an annual ranking of privately held companies in the United States based on percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. Companies considered must have been established and generating revenue by March 2021, and must have met minimum revenue thresholds of USD $100,000 in 2021 and USD $2 million in 2024. The rankings reflect a data-driven assessment of dynamic, independent enterprises.
CData Software, headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, develops solutions enabling access and connectivity to on-premises and cloud data sources for businesses around the world.
Growth and resilience
The 2025 Inc. 5000 ranking process placed particular emphasis on growth achieved during a period described as economically challenging, with increasing costs, changing labour markets, and global uncertainty.
Amit Sharma, Chief Executive Officer at CData, said:
"We're honored to once again be recognised on the Inc. 5000 list. This achievement reflects our team's relentless commitment to innovation and customer success as we continue to transform how organisations access and work with data. In a world where systems and data are more distributed than ever, seamless connectivity across platforms and clouds is essential and we're proud to be at the forefront of that effort."
This year's Inc. 5000 companies generally experienced robust expansion. Data from Inc. highlights that, amongst the top 500 firms, the median growth rate over three years stood at 1,552%. In total, companies on the 2025 list added more than 48,678 jobs in the United States over that period, according to Inc. figures.
Industry recognition
In addition to its Inc. 5000 placement, CData has been featured in several industry analyses and awards covering data integration and connectivity. In 2025, the company was recognised as a Strong Performer in Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for Data Integration. It also appeared for the first time in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Integration, listed as the only new vendor among 20 recognised for that year.
Other acknowledgements in 2025 include The Software Report's Top 25 Data Management and Analytics Companies and inclusion in the DBTA 100, a listing of companies considered significant within the data sector.
Inc. 5000 perspective
Mike Hofman, Editor-in-Chief of Inc., commented on the broader significance of making the list:
"Making the Inc. 5000 is always a remarkable achievement, but earning a spot this year speaks volumes about a company's tenacity and clarity of vision. These businesses have thrived amid rising costs, shifting global dynamics, and constant change. They didn't just weather the storm - they grew through it, and their stories are a powerful reminder that the entrepreneurial spirit is the engine of the U.S. economy."
The annual Inc. 5000 list has previously included firms such as Microsoft, Meta, Chobani, Under Armour, Timberland, Oracle, and Patagonia. The full 2025 results feature a searchable database by company, industry, and location, and are set to be published in the autumn issue of Inc. magazine.
Eligibility for the 2025 Inc. 5000 required companies to be independent, for-profit entities, not subsidiaries or divisions of other firms as of December 2024. Companies may have undergone public offerings or acquisitions after the assessment period.
CData's position on the list marks it as one of a select group of private companies recognised for notable revenue growth over a defined period.
