DesignVerse expands enterprise AI platform into the US

DesignVerse has launched its Enterprise AI Platform in the US, expanding the European software company's commercial push beyond Europe.

The launch introduces what it calls the Enterprise Context Layer for US customers and makes its Visual Studio Code extension generally available. The software is designed to let artificial intelligence generate code using a customer's own architecture, engineering standards, business rules and internal knowledge, rather than relying only on general models.

DesignVerse is positioning the product around a problem many large companies face as they move from pilot projects to wider use of AI in software development. Generic coding assistants can produce code quickly, but businesses often need extra work to test, validate and adapt that code to legacy systems, internal governance requirements and established engineering practices.

The approach has already been used within EUROCONTROL's air traffic management systems as part of a broader modernisation effort. That deployment places the technology in a tightly regulated, safety-critical environment where software changes require a high degree of consistency and verification.

According to company figures, the system generated software up to five times faster than traditional development processes in that setting while reducing testing and quality assurance work. In another enterprise deployment, DesignVerse said it cut software development costs by about 60% and improved architectural consistency across applications.

It also said teams using the software reduced delivery timelines from six months to about six weeks, lowered delivery costs by around 50%, and nearly doubled delivery capacity without increasing engineering headcount. Those claims reflect a wider debate in the software industry over whether AI tools create savings only at the coding stage or across the full development cycle, including rework, compliance and maintenance.

US expansion

The US launch marks the next stage in DesignVerse's international growth plans as it seeks customers in North America. It is targeting enterprise software teams in financial services, aviation, government, defence and critical infrastructure, where governance, data sovereignty and security often shape purchasing decisions as much as development speed.

The platform combines several components: the Enterprise Context Layer; fine-tuned AI models adapted to a customer's architecture and engineering standards; a web application for editing end-to-end applications; modular deployment across cloud and on-premises environments; integrations with existing development systems; a Visual Studio Code extension; and a console terminal interface.

The focus on customer-specific context reflects a broader shift in the enterprise AI market. Early enthusiasm around large language models centred on broad-purpose tools trained on internet-scale data, but many corporate buyers are now looking for systems that can operate within their own structures, controls and organisational history.

That is especially relevant in sectors with large volumes of legacy software. Businesses in aviation, finance and government often run old but critical systems that cannot be replaced quickly, meaning any AI tool used by development teams must fit established workflows and controls rather than bypass them.

Andrei Manolache, Chief Executive Officer of DesignVerse, outlined the company's case for that approach.

"The first wave of enterprise AI was about building smarter models. The next wave is about giving those models a real understanding of the organization they're working for," Manolache said.

He also linked the pitch to the economics of software delivery inside large organisations.

"The real cost in enterprise software has never been how fast code gets written, but the QA, rework and validation needed to trust it - and that giving AI a real understanding of how an organization builds software removes that layer of inefficiency," he said.

Competition in AI-assisted software development has intensified as specialist startups and larger technology groups alike compete for enterprise budgets. Many rivals offer code generation and developer support, but vendors increasingly need to show that their systems can meet internal audit, governance and maintenance requirements if they want broader contracts from large organisations.

For DesignVerse, the reference to EUROCONTROL may help distinguish its product in a crowded market. Air traffic management systems are among the most demanding software environments in Europe, and their use there gives the company a case study tied not just to developer productivity but also to software assurance and operational reliability.

The challenge in the US will be turning that experience into sales across industries with different procurement processes and technical estates. Even so, the company's central claim is likely to resonate with buyers that have found writing code faster does not necessarily mean delivering software faster.
