INIU Outdoor has launched the Rugged 20000 portable power bank, the second product in its Rugged Series.

The device has a 20,000mAh battery and is aimed at users taking longer trips away from mains electricity, including campers, hikers, van users and people working remotely outdoors.

Priced at USD $76.99 and GBP £76.99, the Rugged 20000 sits above the earlier Rugged 10000, which was introduced for shorter trips and lighter power needs. The new model offers double the capacity of the first device, according to INIU Outdoor.

Outdoor design

The Rugged 20000 has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance and can withstand immersion in up to 1m of water for 30 minutes when the port cover is closed, according to the company.

It weighs 353.2g and measures 108 x 73.6 x 28.6mm. The body includes silicone armour, a sealed port cover, LED battery indicators, a detachable carabiner and clip, and a standard 1/4"-20 tripod thread for mounting.

According to company product specifications, it is also drop-tested to MIL-STD-810G 516.6 standards. The Rugged 20000 is sold in six colour options, including Basalt Black, Nightfall Blue, Forest Camo and Canyon Camo.

Charging features

The power bank can charge up to three devices at once through two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. It delivers up to 65W, enough to charge not only phones and smaller accessories but also some laptops, tablets, cameras and drones.

INIU Outdoor said the device can take a 13-inch MacBook Air from 20% to 54% in 30 minutes. Internal tests also indicate the battery can provide about three charges for an iPhone 17 Pro, around 80% charge for a 13-inch MacBook Air, or one full charge for a drone battery, although actual results will vary by device and usage.

An automatic low-current mode is included for smaller accessories such as earbuds, headlamps and fitness trackers. The company says this is intended to allow safer charging for lower-power devices.

Off-grid use

The Rugged 20000 is compatible with INIU Outdoor's Solar Panel 28W, sold separately for USD $79.99. The pairing is intended to extend use on multi-day trips and in places where fixed charging points are unavailable.

According to INIU Outdoor, solar recharging can support off-grid use for up to three days. The product is positioned as part of a wider line of rugged portable power and solar charging equipment.

A built-in light offers four modes: bright white, low white, steady red and flashing red. These settings are intended for general campsite use, low-light gear checks and visibility in emergency situations.

Broader push

The launch expands INIU Outdoor's effort to build a distinct range of charging products for outdoor and remote use. The business describes itself as the adventure-focused division of INIU, which says it serves more than 40 million users across 174 countries and holds more than 100 patents.

The company is targeting a market spanning recreational outdoor users and professionals who need portable electricity for field work. Suggested use cases for the Rugged 20000 include long-distance hiking, motorcycle touring, photography, field surveying and emergency preparedness.

The product also comes with what INIU calls an 18-layer SmartProtect safety system covering overheating, overcharging, short circuits, overcurrent, overvoltage and temperature-related risks. A five-year warranty is included.

The Rugged 20000 is also airline-approved, according to the company, adding another practical feature for travellers carrying battery packs between destinations.
