Samsung unveils Galaxy S25 series with advanced AI features

Samsung has announced the release of the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, highlighting advancements in artificial intelligence and customisable user experiences.

The series features multimodal AI agents, a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset, and enhanced camera functionalities. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, commented on these developments: "The greatest innovations are a reflection of their users, which is why we evolved Galaxy AI to help everyone interact with their devices more naturally and effortlessly while trusting that their privacy is secured. Galaxy S25 series opens the door to an AI-integrated OS that fundamentally shifts how we use technology and how we live our lives."

The Galaxy S25 series introduces One UI 7, designed to offer personalised AI interactions while ensuring data privacy. This iteration marks a collaboration with Google to integrate AI into the core of Android, enhancing functionalities through context-aware suggestions and seamless multi-app interactions.

The devices are equipped with advanced features such as Call Transcript, Writing Assist, and Drawing Assist, which are aimed at offering users more fluid communication, productivity, and creativity processes. The Personal Data Engine powers these personalised AI features by securely processing data on-device.

Regarding device security, the Galaxy S25 includes post-quantum cryptography and fortified protection layers as part of Samsung's ongoing efforts to bolster security in an era of increased AI and connectivity.

The chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, is tailored specifically for the new series. It offers enhanced AI processing capabilities for mobile devices previously reliant on cloud-based solutions. This includes accelerated image processing, more realistic mobile gaming support through the Vulkan Engine, and improved Ray Tracing.

The series offers significant improvements in mobile photography, introducing a 50MP ultrawide camera sensor for the S25 Ultra, with built-in features like an Audio Eraser for video sound control and a Virtual Aperture for advanced photography effects. Including a 10-bit HDR recording enhances video quality, providing richer colour and better performance in various lighting conditions.

Samsung has also focused on the durability and sustainability of its devices. The S25 Ultra features a lightweight and durable design with upgraded materials like titanium and Corning Gorilla Armor 2. Seven generations of OS upgrades and security updates are promised to extend the longevity of the devices.

The Galaxy S25 series is available for pre-order. The S25 Ultra is offered in multiple titanium finishes, and the S25 and S25 Plus are available in various other hues. Samsung Care+ provides comprehensive coverage options for these devices. The company has also introduced the New Galaxy Club, a subscription model that simplifies device ownership and upgrades.
