SmartBear wins fifth Tech Cares Award for global CSR efforts
SmartBear has been recognised with the Tech Cares Award from TrustRadius, an HG Insights company, for its corporate social responsibility efforts for the fifth consecutive year.
The Tech Cares Award honours B2B technology organisations that support their communities, employees, and the environment, highlighting exceptional standards in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) across the sector.
Recognition of efforts
Amy Cohn, Chief People Officer at SmartBear, acknowledged the achievement and the collective efforts of the company's workforce.
"We are passionate about supporting our employees and the communities we serve around the world, and are honored to be recognised by TrustRadius with a 2025 Tech Cares Award. This award is not about products, but the people behind them. A special shout-out and thank you to our wonderful team for all they do to support our communities. Our global team's dedication to these initiatives exemplifies our values in action."
Global community engagement
The SmartBear Gives Back programme encompasses a range of initiatives, including structured opportunities for employee and corporate giving, paid volunteering time, and matched contributions to charitable causes. Over the last year, SmartBear employees in offices worldwide have engaged in numerous social impact activities.
In Galway, Ireland, the company's team sent care packages to nursing home residents through Carepack.ie, and in Poland, contributions were made to families in need via the Noble Parcel campaign. SmartBear also matched donations to not-for-profit organisations nominated by employees, with beneficiaries such as the Galway Hospice Foundation, Julian House in Bath, UK, and Matuzalki Animal Shelter in Poland receiving support.
Employee volunteering extended to environmental action on Earth Day at various locations, including Bath City Farm in the UK and Visthar.org in Bangalore, India. Teams participated in local events to address housing insecurity and support children's health, such as the Circuit of Bath Walk and the Wroclaw Company Run in Poland.
Initiatives in the United States
In the United States, SmartBear continued a partnership with Cradles to Crayons Boston for a third consecutive year, volunteered at the Somerville Community Growing Centre for Earth Day, and collaborated with the Somerville Food Pantry. Annual support for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute also continued, with SmartBear hosting a 3K walk and donating to the Pan-Mass Challenge team, an initiative in memory of former Chief Executive Officer Justin Teague.
Awareness and fundraising campaigns
The company marked both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Movember, which promotes awareness of men's health issues, with hundreds of employees participating in related fundraising campaigns. SmartBear matched donations to several organisations during these periods, including Brave Gowns, a group supporting children coping with illness.
Environmental sustainability practices
SmartBear reports continued progress on environmental sustainability through measures such as eliminating single-use plastics, establishing targets for carbon reduction, and applying green practices throughout its offices. Its Somerville headquarters, located in Massachusetts, now operates exclusively on renewable energy sources.
The company's ongoing focus on social responsibility and sustainability is reflected in its recognition by TrustRadius, as well as its continued global programming to support charitable causes and promote environmental stewardship among employees and within its communities.
