Alkami has integrated Carleton's loan calculation and compliance software into MANTL Loan Origination, adding automated calculations, amortisation and compliance checks to the lending platform.

The integration uses CarletonCalcs OriginationPlus within MANTL's loan origination workflow. It is designed to handle contract disclosure values, fees, taxes, insurance premiums and other loan-related charges without requiring staff to calculate them manually or move data between separate systems.

The system also checks each transaction against federal and state requirements, as well as institution-specific rules. Where lenders enable it, the software can automatically adjust loan terms to keep a transaction within defined compliance parameters.

The announcement reflects a broader push by banks and credit unions to reduce manual work in lending while limiting compliance risk. Loan origination often involves repeated checks across changing regulatory frameworks, slowing approvals and increasing the scope for errors.

By embedding calculation and compliance functions into a single process, the companies are targeting one of the more operationally intensive stages between application and funding. The integration is intended for use across both branch-based and digital channels.

Benjamin Conant, Chief Product Officer at Alkami, said the company continues to expand the partner network around MANTL's lending product.

"Modern lending depends on automation. Every manual step adds complexity for lenders and slows the experience for borrowers. MANTL Loan Origination is designed to automate as much of the lending workflow as possible so financial institutions can focus on serving borrowers, not managing processes. As more financial institutions modernise lending, we're continuing to expand the ecosystem around MANTL Loan Origination with partners to reduce operational friction and help institutions deliver better lending experiences from application through funding," Conant said.

Compliance focus

Carleton has supplied loan calculation and compliance software to lenders for decades. In this integration, its technology supports direct loan origination by generating calculations and validating whether disclosures and other terms meet applicable rules.

The regulatory aspect is central to the offering. Lending teams must account for federal and state standards that vary by product and jurisdiction, while also applying internal lending policies. Software that runs those checks within the origination workflow can reduce the need for separate validation steps later in the process.

That may matter particularly for smaller and mid-sized financial institutions, which often face pressure to improve turnaround times without adding staff. A system that combines calculations, disclosures and rule checks could help reduce processing bottlenecks in consumer lending.

Matt Ruszkowski, President and Chief Operating Officer at Carleton, said the pace of regulatory change was a key challenge for lenders.

"The challenge in lending today is keeping pace with the complex and ever-changing regulatory requirements that govern those calculations. For decades, Carleton has helped financial institutions navigate that complexity. Our integration with MANTL brings that expertise directly into the lending workflow, enabling financial institutions to originate loans faster while maintaining confidence in the accuracy and compliance of every transaction," Ruszkowski said.

Lending workflow

MANTL is part of Alkami's digital sales and service business for US banks and credit unions. The platform supports account opening and other customer-facing processes, and Alkami has been building out its lending workflow through integrations with specialist providers.

For Carleton, the tie-up places its calculation engine directly inside a front-end origination environment used by financial institutions. That gives lenders access to compliance validation at the point of application processing, rather than through a separate back-office review.

Both companies say the operational benefit is less rekeying and duplicate work. In many lending environments, staff still pull figures from one system, enter them into another and then verify disclosures separately. That process can lengthen decision times and increase the chance of inconsistent data.

The integration aims to address that by keeping calculation, disclosure and compliance functions in one workflow. It also underlines how software suppliers serving banks and credit unions are focusing on the mechanics of loan production as institutions look for ways to process applications more consistently while managing regulatory obligations.

Carleton has worked with lenders, financial institutions, and technology providers for more than 55 years on federal and state lending requirements.
